Chateraise Premium Matcha Ice Bar
Saturday, April 13, 2019
An icy coated matcha ice bar with a subtle creamy and milky matcha interior. I prefer a bolder flavour, but I guess there is a reason why its called the Ice Bar. $1.20
Chateraise Premium Ice Cream Kyoto Uji Matcha
December 1954, the first Chateraise was opened in the foothills of Mt. Fuji. Today, the brand has expanded to over 470 shops across Japan and 24 shops around the world: Dubai being the 15th shop, opening first time in the Middle East region.
Chateraise sweets are made exclusively from specially selected fresh ingredients produced by directly contracted farms and pastures. They produce desserts only in our their factory and deliver to Chateraise shops all over the world.
This range comes in 3 flavours - matcha, vanilla and rum and raisin. Being a matcha fan, it was apt that I chose this flavour. $2.50 at 80ml
There is a slight bitterness to the matcha, without being overly sweet which is the way I like it. Worth a repurchase.
Ingredients : Skim milk, cream, sugar, starch, syrup, egg, green tea
Marusanai / Tonyu Matcha ( Marusan Matcha Soy Milk )
Friday, April 12, 2019
Founded in 1952 in Okazaki, Marusan has dedicated it's mission to serve its customers with products using only the best ingredients and promoting healthier choices. Soybeans are high-quality proteins, is flavones, vitamins, minerals and many other nutrients good for human health. Each packet is packed with nutrients and vitamins that helps you fulfil your daily nutritional requirements and is also convenient to drink on-the-go.
Marusan Matcha soy milk is blended with authentic Nishio matcha, a pleasant flavour twist from the original soymilk. Compared to standard soy milk drinks (the table 2010 soy milk drink malt Japan food standard ingredients coffee), Marusan Matcha Soy Milk has 50% lesser calories.
The soy milk has a hint of matcha flavour and its not as sweet as the usual soy milk. The sweetness level is just right for me but the matcha soy milk taste is an acquired taste.

Dulcet n Studio Karuizawa Green Tea Bread
Monday, February 25, 2019
At Dulcet n Studio, located at Liang Court entrance, is this Asanoya bakery selling the signature Karuizawa Green Tea bread. 2 slices cost $3.50 and their bread is freshly baked daily. When I was there, it was going for 40% as they were trying to clear their bread and I was holding the last 2 slices.
The bread is airy, soft, chewy and fluffy with a subtle green tea flavour and fragrance. However, I felt that it is still alittle too dry for me when I had it without any additional jam. The following day, I added the O'Sulloc Green Tea Milk Spread, and it was much better.
The size is too much for me, even for a meal, so sharing would be preferred.
Don Don Donki : Matcha Warabi Mochi
Thursday, February 21, 2019
Japanese discount chain, Don Don Donki has 3 branches in Singapore - Orchard Central, 100AM and City Square Mall. I bought Matcha Warabi Mochi at the Orchard Central branch for $3.
Tender and wobbly with the matcha bitterness matching the sweetness of the mochi, it is really oiishi and is a must-try from the store. It is $3 and you can probably finish all within 10 minutes.

Sweet Hug Green Tea Spread
Monday, February 11, 2019
Sweet Hug Green Tea Milk Spread has a rich green tea flavour paired with almond powder and almond bits. Best enjoyed as a jam, dressing, and topping on plain crackers and bread, salads, ice creams
I bought all the 4 spreads when I was in Seoul. They are so much interesting than what we had in our local supermarkets in Singapore, and just thinking of them made me look forward to breakfast every morning!
Sweet Hug Green Tea Milk Spread has a thick creamy texture with almond bits that provide that crunchy bite. Even though I am not a almond fan, I still enjoy having this Green Tea Spread on my bread as the almond taste is not too distinct while the crunchy bites provided a good texture.
The Green Tea has a certain level of sweetness without being overboard and there is no bitterness.
Will definitely repurchase if I chance upon it again.

Matcha Azuki Mochi
Friday, July 27, 2018
A friend has just came back from Osaka and bought a box of Matcha Azuki Mochi for me. Thankfully, the Azuki is hardly delectable which had me enjoying the small box of Mochi.
Sharing among 4 of us at home, meant that we polished a box of 10 mochi within 10 minutes. Mochi are small balls made of glutinuous rice which can be sweet or savory.
The sweetness of Matcha Azuki Mochi is just right - not overly sweet, with a subtle matcha flavour which can be stronger. However, the addictive part is the mochi which is very very soft, chewy and dense.

Matcha Chocolate Daifuku
Sunday, July 15, 2018
My brother bought a box of Matcha Chocolate Daifuku for me while vacationing in Tokyo 2 months ago. As the name implies, Daifuku mochi is a traditional type of Japanese confectionery which is soft and chewy like mochi.
The matcha flavoured soft and round rice cake with white chocolate filling is addictive and the bite-sized portion makes it easy to digest. Oiishi!

Boulangerie Asanoya Green Tea Chocolate Danish
Thursday, June 14, 2018
Boulangerie Asanoya is a bakery from Japan, first established in Karuizawa town near Nagano in 1933. They use ITO EN in their matcha flavoured treats such as this Green Tea Chocolate Danish.
The Green Tea Chocolate Danish is slightly sweet, probably due to the chocolate while the exterior is alright. At $3.90, its not exactly cheap as a breakfast on-the-go bread but good on days when you just want some artisan bread. I may try other matcha flavoured pastries next time.
Nadeje : Green Tea Mille Crepe
Saturday, March 3, 2018
Nadeje is a cake shop in Malacca famous for its mille crepe which comes in an assortment of flavours like Mango, Coffee, Green Tea and The Original. My dear hubby was on a road trip with his friends some time back and brought back several flavours of Mille Crepe. Imagine my sheer delight on seeing them and all were so good - soft, moist and delicious.
Care to get some snacks from Amazon, if you are not heading to Malacca? Here are some choices.

Non Entree Desserts : Matcha Avalanache
Francis Wong, an ex-sous pastry chef from Regent Singapore, started Non Entree Desserts with his 2 friends, to provide fine dining desserts at reasonable prices for the masses.
When I first heard about its desserts, I thought the place would be alittle "atas" so imagine my surprise, when I found myself stepping into this spacious and laid-back enclave. A great place to chill with friends as one indulged in beautiful desserts.
Matcha Avalanache ( $13.90, excluding GST ) belongs to their Avalanache series where it consists of chocolate, matcha and horlicks ( non permanent ) flavours.
It was a natural choice for me to pick the Matcha Avalanache although it includes Azuki Beans which I am not a fan of. I requested for it to be excluded but the dessert still came with the Azuki Beans. So being a nice person, I just took it without much fuss.
It was a visual treat to see the dessert, where the matcha from the warm and moist lava cake on top of a honeycomb waffle will drip into a glass bowl of a scoop of gelato and some edible flowers below, once you sliced it open.
It was a little pricey but for the novelty factor and the visual treat, it was worth a visit. The Matcha Avalanache was not bad but can be perfect without the azuki beans as I am not a fan of that.
O'Sulloc Jeju Island Green Tea Chocolate Bar
Sunday, December 31, 2017
Just looking at all these items in O'Sulloc shop and the Tea House menu makes me want to be there! Even though I don't fancy going back to Jeju as I have been there in 2009, but I still hope to visit O'Sulloc somehow.
The Green Tea Chocolate Bar is pretty good, the mixture of the green tea and chocolate blend makes it such an enjoyable dessert.

Chateraise Japanese Sponge Cake Matcha
Chateraise, a popular patisserie from the Yamanashi prefecture, Japan, has been expanding rapidly in Singapore with stores opening in prominent areas one after another. Their prices are kept reasonable, considering that they are flown directly from Japan. Other than cakes which are a hit with the masses, their ice-creams are also pretty popular with the OLs ( office ladies ) working nearby.
The Japanese Matcha Sponge Cake caught my eye so into my basket, it goes. Still have so many snacks in the store for me to try. :P
The packaging looks great and polished. Open up to reveal a very simple looking sponge cake with the green to remind you that its matcha. Being a matchaholic, I will prefer the matcha taste to be stronger and bitter, however this simple matcha sponge cake is still a delight during a tea break.

Matcha Swiss Roll at The Plain Jane
After hearing much hype about their swiss rolls online, I decided to try the Matcha Swiss Roll at The Plain Jane for myself. Unfortunately, it did not sit too well with my taste buds. It is decent but not WOW for me.
The matcha swiss roll has a soft and fluffy texture but not as moist as I expected. Its matcha flavour is more to the milky side than to the matcha bitterness taste preferred.
At $5.90 and located in a neighbourhood area, I thought the prices can be kept slightly lower to cater to the neighbourhood folks.
Matcha + Houjicha Soft Serve at Tsujiri Singapore
It is always difficult to reject a soft serve, especially when it comes with 2 of my favourite flavours.
The matcha flavour is pretty subtle while the houjicha is much better and is my preferred choice.
SHUU ( Choux Puffs ) By Koki Tamagoyaki
So in love with the matcha choux puffs, priced at $4.30.
The exterior has a crumbly texture, but it was soft when I had it the following day as breakfast. It probably may be crispy if I had it on the same day though.
I am definitely impressed with the overflowing Gyomuyo Maccha filling enveloped within a thin layer of croquant that its so satisfying with each bite. There is a slight bitterness to the smooth creamy custard and is perfect the way I like it.
Market O Real Brownie Matcha
Sunday, April 23, 2017
Hailing from Korea, this box of Market O Real Brownie Matcha is totally addictive and very good. The original version - the real brownie is already pretty good in its own rights, now with this new flavour where matcha is added, it will bring new fans.
On the back of the box, the recipe is written as What Flour, 2.5% Matcha and 14% Pure Milk Chocolate Chunk. This brownie with matcha flavour is crumbly in texture and with a subtle matcha taste, however you can't really compare it to a real intense brownie because it isn't really so.

Lotte Choco Pie Green Tea
Wednesday, April 19, 2017
Lotte Choco Pie Green Tea is a limited edition flavour, released as part of the Lotte's 30th anniversary celebrations. Consisting of chocolate exterior, green tea sponge cake and a marshmallow filling, the big size snack is just perfect for that rumbling tummy during tea-break.
While it doesn't have a distinct matcha flavour, it is a nice distraction from the usual choco pies. Knowing that I am a matcha fan, my dear hubby has gotten a box from the Lotte Mart in Beijing.

O'sulloc Green Tea Milk Spread
I received a bottle of O'sulloc Green Tea Milk Spread from my aunt after her Korea vacation. My initial impression wasn't that great as I found it to be too sweet for my liking but I soon adjusted to its taste and rather enjoyed it on my bread in the morning.
Being a matcha lover and having a matcha spread on my bread can be one of the perks in the mornings, just before I start my day.
The texture is smooth and creamy but the sweetness overpowered the matcha taste although it is still pretty nice, just not a perfect one for the matchaholics.

Haagen Dazs Green Tea Ice Cream
Haagen Dazs uses high quality matcha grown in the hills of Kagoshima prefecture to make their popular Haagen Dazs Green Tea Ice Cream.
I am also pretty happy that there are only 5 ingredients used in this green tea flavour, however, the green tea powder is just 1% which is pretty little.
A simple matcha ice-cream with a hint of the bitter matcha taste. It fits my taste buds very well and I like it!
