Yayoi Hokkaido Mille Crepe Cake with Matcha ice-cream

At $5, the Hokkaido Mille Crepe Cake with Matcha ice-cream on the poster outside Yayoi Japanese restaurant in Liang Court has been running through my mind for several weeks before I finally caved in.

Loving the vibe in Yayoi Restaurant where one feel comfortable away from the prying eyes due to the many partitions between each table, I had the dessert alone on a weekday afternoon. Still, it is too tiny to be satisfying. And the matcha powder seems to be missing from the mille crepe on my plate.

The matcha ice-cream is pretty intense and flavourful which is a perfect match with the vanilla mille crepe that is mild and yet delightfully tasty. Azuki beans is not something I really adore so I left it alone.

Matcha Choux Puff from Dulcet and Studio

At $3.40, the Matcha Choux Puff looks pretty and indulgent. Crumbly, crusty yet dry on the exterior, the swirly matcha cream in the interior is rich and creamy with a distinct matcha taste mixed with the vanilla cream. I prefer the cream much more than the pastry though.

Isokoma Nori Matcha Latte

Containing 7 individually packed sachets, each packet costs $11 but there was a 30% discount when I bought it from Yamakawa Super. Dark green in colour, Isokoma Nori Matcha Latte can be bitter if too little water is added, diluted if there's too much water but is still too sweet in my opinion. Not the perfect matcha latte as I preferred. The sweet after-taste is cloying and I didn't like that one bit.

Meiji Hello Panda Cocoa Biscuits with Matcha Green Tea Cream Filling

A pack costs $1 from Meidiya Supermarket so naturally, it went into my basket. The newest flavour to date, the cute panda biscuits contain a cocoa exterior, which is slightly bitter and is filled up with matcha cream filling. After finishing up the whole pack one night, I realized my throat has turned dry and desperately need water, before sore throat comes along.

You can shop for the biscuits on Amazon. Check it here.

Matcha Roll from Dulcet and Studio

Love the place for its casual vibe and on those days where you need time alone. Minus the houseflies around though. With some raving mad about its Matcha Roll, I decided to give it a try but unfortunately, it is just not for me, despite being a matcha fan.

Just out from its fridge, it was cold and hard. I am not sure, if there will be a difference if I let it sit outside for a longer period before it goes into my mouth. The matcha taste is definitely distinct but the hard texture didn't give me joy. The appearance doesn't look enticing to me too.
