BreadTalk Green Tea Sponge Cake

Knowing that I am a big fan of green tea, my mum bought this sponge cake from a pack of 4 different flavours from Breadtalk. I never think of buying it, everytime I saw it because it doesn't look appealing to me.

Boy! How wrong was I! This sponge cake, with a subtle taste of green tea is unbelievably soft. You have to try it to believe it. I am not a sponge cake fan, and even I was won over. Looks indeed are deceptive.

Sakae Sushi Green Tea Mousse Cake

Whenever I had meals at Sakae Sushi, I always get tempted by their Matcha desserts but never once did I try them except for last night, over at Kovan branch. I regretted spending $5.99 over this tiny scoop of mousse cake above. And its really bad!
Being a Matcha-lover, I tend to be biased at times, since I love anything with green tea.

The term" mousse" cake reminds me of something soft but light and creamy but this is totally different. The matcha mousse cake is directly served from the fridge so its cold and icy. I can literally feel the tiny ice in this tasteless cake. Its hard since its frozen and there is a tiny layer of sponge cake at the bottom. Probably because of the ice, the whole cake tasted more like ice than the matcha flavour. There is just a slight matcha taste, hardly distinguishable. And look at the dull green colour, will you eat that for $5.99? Give me a break!
