Matcha Meltdown at Ochacha

I love matcha. I really do. I enjoyed indulging in them.
Sometimes, on a weekday night, after my eyebrow trimming at Paragon, I will visit Ochacha at Paragon Basement to have my dinner. A not-so-nice ramen and a nice drink.

This Matcha Meltdown is something I have tried recently. At $5.65, its so expensive but for the sake of matcha, I am willing to try. The glass comes with frozen matcha ice-cubes and the waitress will pour some warm milk in it, in front of you. Its a very interesting concept. However due to the huge number of ice-cubes, I feel that the drink is not exactly worth the $5.65. Once is enough. A well-balanced drink but its a novelty I can do without after one time.

I have been away for so long. It just didn't seem right, now that my grandfather is no longer around. 6 months since his demise. Where have the time gone to? Can I achieve something in life, with my grandfather's blessings? Sometimes, I don't know what I want in life anymore. I just want to be happy, but it just seems so near, yet so far.
Recently there have been a major restructuring in my company. It affected several of my close colleagues and I was rather depressed about it. In fact, I have lost many of my lunch kaki throughout the years. I am not even doing 1 person's job anymore. Its been so long but did anyone appreciate my efforts. Hardly.
I have been in the company far too long, seeing too much changes and everyone is asking me why am I not moving on?
I wanted to, but the right opportunity just doesn't seem to come my way. What have I been doing wrong, I kept asking myself? But no answer came to me, just like 2 years ago.
I want to be happy. I really want to, but I don't know how to work towards that. Life is becoming so meaningless for me at times.

Baker King, Kim Tak Goo

I have just completed watching this show on cable tv though I have missed quite a few episodes at the start. An excellent show to recommend for any K-drama fans. Kim Tak Goo is a guy whom you will root from the start to the end. His sincerity and kindness touches everyone who knows him. His talent with a keen sense of smell had you in awe as he made wonderful bread one after another.
His determination and persistence in overcoming all odds are commendable and inspiring.

Initially, just reading the synopsis made me yawn because it just seemed so boring, however as 2 colleagues have highly recommended this show to me, so I thought I would just give it a shot and I never regretted it.
I love K-dramas, just like how much I love reading novels, I just feel that I am being transported to another world, free of worries and troubles. But after the bubble broke, you know its just a story. No one would be so kind, so nice and so good in this materialistic world.

Synopsis :
Kim Tak Goo is the eldest son of Goo In Jong, the president of Samhwa Enterprise, a legend in the baking industry. Although he is an extremely talented baker and seemed destined to succeed his father as president, Goo In Jong's family plotted to rob him of his inheritance because he was born to In Jong's mistress. Tak Goo's determination to become number one in the baking industry drives him to rebuild his career from scratch despite the many trials he faces.

God Of Study craze

Recently, I have been catching on this korea drama which my sister bought in Poh Kim.

I was like "eee" when I first saw the DVD, its all in Chinese and no English or Korea titles. The synopsis on the back of the DVD is also in Chinese. A very funny packaging of Korean drama, was what I thought. There was no English subtitles in the show, which is another "huh?". I have the expectation that DVDs should come with English subtitles. The actors and actresses in the show were like "blah"...no one with winsome looks or anyone whom I am familiar with.
To summed it up, I actually have no expectation of the show but surprisingly it was good and I was really hooked on the show.

The story tells of a poor lawyer who decides to teach a bunch of rebellious students. He promises to get five of them into their most prestigious college in the country. Its based on a popular Japanese manga – Dragon Zakura. Read more here

Its quite a sweet and endearing story about how to study smart in school, with the right attitude and values that one should have. Since I am no longer studying, I paid no heed to the tips dished out in the drama but perhaps students may find it relevant. Some of the tips have been taught by my teachers before, like doing a mind-map, etc. Some studying methods are pretty ridiculous, like running around the class while trying to memorize their vocabulary, I meant, how do I study when my eyes are bobbing up and down, right?

Ocha Crunch

Another one of my matcha indulgences. I am a big matcha fan, without any nuts or azuki beans. For this Ocha Crunch, the matcha flavour is layered on top of the chocolate crunch. A very nice indulgence on a lazy afternoon when you just need something to munch on.
