Korean Drama : Memory

Park Tae-seok, a successful and famous attorney suddenly was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. And he was asked to become an attorney for the future Hangook Hospital's chairman, on the recommendation of a vice president of the renowned company, Shin Yeong-jin. During the handling of the case, he also had to hide the fact that he had Alzheimer's disease. The drama depicts his vigorous efforts trying to protect the precious value of the life and family love, while his memory starts fading away.

Lee Sung Min puts in a fine performance, as the lead actor in Memory, executing all his raw emotions perfectly from being an arrogant and unscrupulous attorney to his inner turmoil and pain on losing his first son, to being shocked on finding out his illness, to start being good to his family, to being lost and confused on the streets and to be desperately searching for his son's killer.

Kim Ji-soo starred as Lee Sung Min's long suffering wife who devotes her life to supporting the family as a dutiful wife and a caring mother, never once giving up on the wayward son and the disappointing hubby, both of whom later turned around to be the best family one can have.

Lee Jun Ho and Yoon So Hee are the subordinates of Lee Sung Min in the show and provides a nice distraction to the plot. They work tirelessly and carry out their duties according to what their boss requires, for every legal case. They later fall in love, to the amusement of Lee Sung Min who has long suspected that they have something going on between each other.

Granted, when I first heard about this show, "Remember" immediately comes to mind, because both dramas talk about losing their memories and with both lead actors being lawyers and fighting for a chance to present their cases in the midst of their losing memories.

But, Memory surpassed Remember in every aspect. Memory had me in tears in Every. Single. Episode. It is that emotional wrenching. I can't tell you how much I love this show. The last time I remembered about crying so much over a drama was 1 Litre of Tears, a Japanese drama where I found myself going to work with red and swollen eyes after a night of crying.

The OST is hauntingly sad and teary which fits the story perfectly. Tears rolled down, each time they are played on my playlist.

A must-watch drama. And get your tissues ready.
