The Fuji from Ciel Patisserie

Ciel Patisserie is a cafe patisserie located within the HDB heartlands. It actually feels out of place with its pretty decor but has a welcoming vibe for friends to catch up with each other.

Picking The Fuji over other choices was a natural option for me. The Fuji is a light green tea mousse complimented with a lychee gelee insert and a soft green tea sponge base. Liking the refreshing lychee gelee hidden within the soft green tea mousse which has a subtle matcha taste.

Glico Caplicocot Matcha Au Lait

Being a loyal matcha fan, I always have this habit in checking out new matcha items. Glico Caplicocot Matcha Au Lait from Yamakawa Super costs $2.80 and consists of 12 tiny bite-sized pieces, with matcha on the top and chocolate at the bottom.

The 12 bite sized pieces are kept in a tray that looks like an egg tray. Slight effort is required to get the pieces out as they are stiff at first, after being kept in the fridge. However, the interior is softer and is a mixture of matcha and chocolate. Yummy enough as a matcha dose but unable to fill up the tummy when its so tiny.

Dough & Grains Matcha Swiss Roll

I like the concept behind Dough and Grains bakery - incorporating TCM herbs into their bread. However, when I was there getting the spinach loaf, I just couldn't resist trying their matcha roll which costs $1.90 which isn't cheap at all.

The matcha swiss roll is quite a let down, because it is not moist and is slightly hard. The spinach bread is a much better choice.

Meiji Matcha Latte Ice Bar

Despite the brand being Meiji, this range of ice bars actually comes from Taiwan, with 3 flavours - Cookies and Cream, Strawberry and Matcha Latte. Needless to say, Matcha Latte is clearly the winner, because the flavour is slightly stronger than the other 2.

Light green in colour, the Matcha Latte Ice Bar contains tiny mochi cubes in it, which makes it such a delight to bite in. The matcha taste is subtle but not bitter. A pleasant treat in the sweltering heat.

Glico Collon Biscuit Roll Matcha Green Tea Flavour

Little wafer tube roll with a soft and creamy filling, inclined more towards sweetness rather than an intense matcha flavour. I finish one box within 10 minutes. Available for purchase at $1 in those ABC shops around Singapore.
